Question:
Hi Jennifer,
I am looking to bring on a few physician assistants to help out, and I would like to know how many I can supervise.
Thanks, Dr. L
Answer provided by Jennifer Kirschenbaum, Esq:
Depends where we are talking. In NY in a private practice, a doctor can supervise 4 PAs at any given time. At an Article 28 - that number goes from 4 to 6.
According to reference information on web:
“Supervision In New York State, a physician may employ or supervise no more than four PAs in the physician's practice; in a correctional facility, no more than six PAs; and, in a facility licensed pursuant to PHL Article 28, no more than six PAs.”
