The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is required to remove Social Security Numbers (SSNs) from all Medicare cards by April 2019. On 04/02/2018 CMS started to mail new Medicare cards to beneficiaries according to schedule and geographical zones. That means some of your patients may have already got their new IDs.
