Important to Know
Some of your patients can submit their ID cards issued by healthcare companies with which you are not a network-participating provider. Please note if anywhere on the patient's ID card is displayed Cigna's name, the health plan may be a Cigna strategic alliance care, and your care may be considered in-network.
Those plans are:
HealthPartners
MVP Healthcare
Priority Health
How does it work?
Patients must use the services of participating providers according to their alliance plan. While traveling or if they live outside the alliance service area, they can use any Cigna network-participating provider.
A patient's ID card displays Cigna's name and the name of the strategic alliance. You can easily identify your patients by checking their customer ID cards.
The strategic alliance will process and pay the claims at your Cigna-contracted rate if you confirm a patient's eligibility for the strategic alliance with an ID card.
